Open letter to Comcast - Your DVR SUCKS.

Comcast:

Your DVR -- more specifically, the Motorola DVR that features twin tuners and gobs of hard disk space, sucks.

It doesn't just suck a little bit. It sucks lots. Like, in a universe dominated by the cold, hard vacuum of deep space, it sucks. It sucks like a hoover. It sucks like a black hole. It sucks like a lamprey eel.

It is, to borrow a phrase from The Simpsons, the suckiest suck that ever sucked.

It's slow to respond to remote control commands. The user interface sucks. There's no way to easily export content to a computer or handheld device.

Please, please, please, Comcast. Make it suck less.

Even better, when you try to set up a series recording for the Simpsons, it insists on recording the episodes during the week. Also, the listings are all worthless and I have to continually double check for correctness.

Blah. Maybe the Verizon version will be better when FiOS comes this spring.

Well, at the very least, BitTorrenting will be faster!

Usenet FTW. ;)

I am hoping that since Cisco bought Scientific Atlanta, and Cisco wants to "cooperate with Apple" that Scientific Atlanta DVRs will stop sucking. Sucking is par for the course.
