That's my pet peeve of the day.
"Comprise" means "To include."
It's not a synonym for "compose," though it's often used as such. I often read that things "are comprised of" individual parts or components, and that's wrong.
Saying "is comprised of" is like saying "is included of."
So stop it.

My fave pedantic writing obsession is the total eschewment of trademark usage. But I seem to be setting off your filter again, so I will not elaborate.
