Yup. I'm a big Family Guy freak, but American Dad is just redundant (originally being developed as a sort of "consolation prize" for Seth McFarlane after Family Guy was cancelled) and if I had the choice between Arrested Development and American Dad I'd take Arrested Development any day of the week.
Just more evidence that the execs at Fox are a bunch of morons. At least they gave Arrested Development a better chance then they gave Andy Richter Controls the Universe, which was an equally fantastic show that they killed off in a hurry.
This blows. I love this show. It and Scrubs are probably the two funniest shows on TV right now. I mean, I love The Simpsons, but I tend to take it for granted, and sometimes it can be inconsistent. But Arrested Development and Scrubs are great. Without laugh tracks, no less.
Do Americans need to be told when to laugh? "I can't watch that show. I don't know when to laugh! I am a pre-programmed automaton!"
I've not seen that show, or any show since WoW came to this house... but I was pissed a couple of years ago when Firefly was cancelled, with some episodes unaired and no reruns at all to catch the ones I'd missed. At least I got them all on DVD later.

I've been a big fan of how this decision was made after ONE FUCKING EPISODE OF AMERICAN DAD. And it was POST SUPER BOWL.
I mean, fuck, Malcolm In The Middle has been on for ages and barely has better ratings and hasn't won awards lately. Drop the episode order on THAT.
