More than 11,000 spams served
Just checked the stats for MT-Blacklist, the Moveable Type plug-in that keeps automated spam dropped in comments fields on Moveable Type blogs at bay. Since installing it, I've seen 11,126 spams blocked and 3,220 moderated.
Blacklist is an awesome piece of code, and I'm grateful Jay Allen wrote it. I just wish it wasn't necessary to begin with.

Something has to be done about SPAM. I've been complaing that we pay too much for the kind of bandwidth we get and, suprisingly, Charter decided to increase the price of our cable connection $10 up without any foreseen increase in speed.
So now, I pay even more to receive SPAM mail and since I don't have a phone landline, there's no point in switching to DSL to enjoy one of those DSL/phone discount packages. I wonder how much money is SPAM costing the ISPs, and ultimatelly, all of us.
