Neck deep in shiite

Just when you think that the government couldn't possibly screw up this Iraq situation any worse, this happens.

A view from a foreign country - most Canadians I speak with are looking forward for the day Bush is thrown out of the White House. FYI.

Hmm... somehow I am unmoved by the opinions Canadians have about the U.S. elections. (Unless we've annexed Canada and I haven't heard about it.)

I am generally not impressed when people in one country express opinions about who they want to win in a different country. Doesn't matter who the two countries are -- it's really a) none of their business and b) more complicated than you'll ever know, because you're not in that country.

That said, I agree with Peter -- first the Coalition shuts down a newspaper (showing just what they'd like to do here if there were no Constitution), then they blow up a Mosque. Can you get any dumber? Wait, don't answer that...

Oh Shi'ite..

I think a lot of Americans feel the same way, Jean-Luc!

Regarding Jason's comment, I have this image stuck in my head of Slim Pickens on the back of a bomb dropped from the belly of a B-52, hat in hand, yelling "Yee-hah..."

Bombard Iraq with deceased cowboy actors who retired within five miles of the house I grew up in?

I like the way you think, Cohen...

It's been a long time since I saw "Dr. Strangelove", during a class in high school, in fact, but I'm not sure if they didn't get around to showing the ending, or if I just missed it somehow..

Jason's view on foreign policy begs the question of why the hell the American government cares about who's the president of Iraq??? Ah, it only works one way, not the other.

But then, who cares about what Jason thinks.

"FCC" eh? Michael Powell, is that you hiding behind a fake e-mail address?

Honestly, I don't think it's the United States' business who is democratically elected president of Iraq...

This is a simple but interesting read regarding democracy:

FYI, Jason, the president of the US is not elected democratically.
