Finally have a PS2

The $180 price drop was the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back. I went out and bought a PS2 today. Along with a used copy of Kingdom Hearts, a couple of "lite" games for Bonnie, and a racing game. So far, it's awesome. Gotta pick up an optical cable to connect to the receiver, however...

Any recommendations for games that must be added to the library? I'll consider anything, even that gay DDR crap that Remy plays.

Get DDR for your kids, not for you.

I heartily recommend:

THPS4 (even IF Aspyr is publishing it in the near future; it was such a nice change from 1/2/3 that it's worth buying)
Dark Cloud 2 (gorgeous action RPG)
Sly Cooper & The Theivius Racoonus (the best platformer I've played in years)
NBA Street Vol 2 (think NBA Jam, only even better)
Maximo (Ghouls & Ghosts in 3D; sleeper hit of last year)

Kate would undoubtedly say SSX Tricky, since it's the best snowboarding game you'll ever play.

I pray the racing game you got was Gran Turismo 3 and not, say, Midnight Club 2.

Also, I recommend picking up a network adaptor, since the online gaming can be extremely good (SOCOM, Amplitude, THPS4).

-Devil May Cry

-Grand Theft Auto 3

-Grand Theft Auto 4

-Final Fantasy X

-NHL 2003/2004. Not a huge sports fan, but hockey's always had a home in my heart and been the only sport that seemed remotely worth watching on tv.

2 must haves are The Getaway, and Broad Q's Qcast Tuner. The getaway is a really really really fun, 3rd person shooter/driving game.
The Broad Q streams DIVX, MPEG 1 & 2, MP3's, OGG, AC3, and JPEGs from your mac to the ps2 to watch on your TV. It works really well and is contantly being updated.
Besides those I will echo chris and remy: THPS4, Maximo, Ratchet & Clank, Kelly slater pro surfer, SSX tricky, and SplinterCell.
(if you have an xbox get THPS, KSPS, and Tricky for xbox instead).
