This Moron should be shot. They say he has no blood on his hands, but his lying to the rest of the world should be a War Crime...why don't they find where he is and send in a couple of more Missles??? Wait....don't waste them on him----save them for the REAL saddam.....just give him a good-old-fashioned East-Texas Ass Whoppin...

He's entertaining, he's saving his skin from his bloodthirsty "shoot the messenger" boss....but he's prolonging the agony in Baghdad, costing additional civilian and military lives. He is as evil as Tokyo Rose, but somehow more "appealing" - ya gotta feel sorry for the guy, but he's killing his countrymen...every day that they believe his "drek" is another day that his countryment resist and die.

Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf
"The Minister of Information"
This guy is the real (actual) Saddam Hussein. I
am sure of it.
The slippery mustached Saddam we all know, with
his entourage of "look alikes" and palaces for
each, is nothing more than a clever deception.
Saddam's likeness is a merely a media character -
an Avatar. There is no Saddam, like there is no
Uncle Sam.
Mohammed al-Sahaf is too confident and outspoken
to be a loyal minion (of a Saddam). Especially
with a post like the Minister of Information.
I think he is the the fanatic playing the
orchestra. He is the wizard who has come out from
behind the curtain to face his destiny, or make
it.
that's my take on it.

Well, he must be appreciated for his boldness. Only a couple of people have that much courage to speak a lie in front of audience when they are sure he is lying.
Secondly, just before loosing glow, a candle burns more. Therefore, never mind the last acts of a dying hero.

Please ... do not take yourself so seriues (the war is offcourse) ... this man is a clown and he is showing daily what a morons they really are.
It is a shame that all the iraqi people had to suffer so long.
Keep up the good work guys!

Mohammed 'comical Ali' Al-sahaf has been the comic relief of the American War Reality Show. He gives me a good laugh everytime he starts lying in English... "they will surrender, or get burnt in their tanks". But there are suggestions this minister of (dis)information might have been passing the right information to the people that mattered. He has always progressed by betrayal. He betrayed his brother-in-law for a place in the Saddam elite... he might have played 'Judas' again, this time, on the iraqi tyrant himself.

speaking as our speaker has cried off at the last minute. His stories don't have to be true as long as they are funny.

Some gorgeous quotes:
Dubbed Comical Ali by some British newspapers, the Iraqi Information Minister Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf has become a cult figure because of his colourful language and wild claims.
With a grinning face and wild gesticulations, he is the man charged with giving the Iraqi side of the story.
Here are a selection of some of his quotes:
"We will push those crooks, those mercenaries back into the swamp" - Al-Sahhaf makes his debut as the Coalition launches its first bombing raids.
On an air attack on Najaf, he said: "What they say about a breakthrough [in Najaf] is completely an illusion. They are sending their warplanes to fly very low in order to have vibrations on these sacred places . . . they are trying to crack the buildings by flying low over them."
Early in the campaign, al-Sahhaf accused the Allies of booby-trapping pencils.
"The authority of the civil defence ... issued a warning to the civilian population not to pick up any of those pencils because they are booby traps," he said. He added that British and American forces were "immoral mercenaries" and "war criminals".
He continued: "I am not talking about the American people and the British people. I am talking about those mercenaries. ... They have started throwing those pencils, but they are not pencils, they are booby traps to kill the children."
'A despicable creature'
At one point in the campaign, Al-Sahaf said the Iraqis had "shot down a lot of those cruise missiles" and said the war's impact was "trivial."
"I can assure you that those villains will recognize, will discover in appropriate time in the future how stupid they are and how they are pretending things which have never taken place," he added.
And he has a low opinion of US Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld. A "crook" and "the most despicable creature" is how he describes him.
He was dismissive of footage shown by several media outlets showing American troops defeating Republican Guard units on the outskirts of Baghdad: "These images are not the suburbs of Baghdad," he said. "From what I glimpsed, these gardens with rows of palm trees on the side, which you saw in the images, are located in the south of Abu Ghreib, where we have surrounded the Americans and British."
After the Americans seized Saddam Airport and TV cameras were allowed in, al-Sahhaf continued to deny the reports: "We butchered the force present at the airport," he said.
'We are destroying them'
Al-Sahhaf perhaps saved his best performance for the moment American tanks rolled into Baghdad.
"There is no presence of American infidels in the city of Baghdad," he declared to journalists on the roof of the Palestine Hotel as gunfire echoed across the city and tanks fired from the banks of the Tigris just a few hundred yards away.
As the U.S forces finally broke through, he said, "One hundred infidels commited suicide as they entered the holy city of Bagdhad. Their tanks will become their tombs."
As the audience of bemused reporters pointed out the fierce firefight across the river, he continued: "There is no presence of the American columns in the city of Baghdad at all. We besieged them and we killed most of them."
"Today, the tide has turned,'' he continued confidently. "We are destroying them."
And after an American tank shell hit the hotel, killing two cameramen, he moved to reassure the world's press corps. "We are not afraid," he proclaimed, adding paternally "And don't you be afraid".
Asked on Tuesday whether Iraqi soldiers should surrender, he said: "They [the Americans] are going to surrender or be burned in their tanks. They will surrender, it is they who will surrender."

At least Al-Sahaf's daily briefing left me watering at the mouth hanging on his every word - he's the funniest thing I've seen on TV in ages.
I found "coalition" propaganda a lot less amusing, just jingoistic bullshit made to look like it was something credible.
Nick
PS He sure had a point about Rumsfeld though.

I love this clown. His shows are more entertaining than Jerry Seinfeld's. I really miss Al-Sahaf

Mohammed Saeed Al-Sahhaf has apparently no blood on his hands and I heard recently that the coalition are not targeting him.
Stop and think about this guy for a minute.
He remained at his post right up until the last minute, which is a hell of a lot more than can be said for the rest of them.
He is the funniest guy I've seen for a long long time. I think he is superb ! I really believe he should be brought to the West. He doesn't know it yet, but wealth and fame await him.
How many of you would line up outside to pay $100 just to hear him. I know I would.
We need to help him !
How can we do this ?

They're looking for contestents to appear on 'I'm a Celebrity, get me out of here' he'd be perfect, or you could have him hosting his own programme: "History according to Mo". On the Titanic: "Don't worry, we're not sinking, the iceberg was an illusion invented by criminals"
At Custer's last stand: "There are no red indians surrounding us, in fact we have surrounded them"
To Gallileo: "I'm telling you the world is flat, those who say it is round are lying Western hoodlums and will commit suicide by falling off the edge of it"

You gotta love this guy!

I heard he is going to star in Austin Powers 4, they are going to call it Liar Liar Pants on Fire and he plays the character Badgad Bob. They lock him up in the end and make him work for the local city council ("yes, yes we will be there next week to fix your roads"), thats only after they stuff his mouth full of marbles and try and drown him....but you know he just talked his way out of there.
The instoppable Bagdad Bob.
They are going to make a toy version of him, tells all sorts of tall stories... naturally runs on high powered Duracell or eveready golds.
Posted by: West girl | April 11, 2003 05:38 AM
He was a character like al pacino in Scarface but he never used the f... word, at least not on camera...but there is no doubt he is a natural comedian with his sharp wit, turn of phrase, and will provide much needed laughter for coalition forces when they get to see the video....If they capture him they should send him to the US by public demand!
Posted by: Robert | April 11, 2003 05:52 AM

Reminds me of a slightly mad French Napoleon depicted looking through the wrong end of
a small telescope while crying "Ships? Ships?! Where are those ships, I see no British ships!"
meanwhile his small fleet is encircled by the entire British navy who are now proceeding
to fire their canons at a distance of just a few meters.
"We will easily crush the British and American's, all of them! Their tombs will be here, right in Baghdad."

And the Oscar for best performance goes to Mohammed Saeed Al-Sahaf for his role in the film: "selling illusions". April 09, 2003
An American reporter, picking his way through the bombed streets of Baghdad, stumbled across the Iraqi Minister of Information, Saeed al-Sahaf, who was finishing off a cheeseburger in a deli.
Reporter: Well, hello, Mr. al-Sahaf.
Al-Sahaf: Hello, imperialistic infidel dog.
Reporter: Looks like quite a cheeseburger you have there.
The Iraqi Minister of Information quickly ate the last of his meal.
Al-Sahaf: You evil American snake. Your ignorance will lead you to a horrible, screaming death in the sand. That was not a cheeseburger.
Reporter: It wasn't?
Al-Sahaf: No, fool, it was not. There are no cheeseburgers in Baghdad.
Reporter: All right then. Sir, I was wondering if I could ask you what you plan to do after the Americans finish taking over Baghdad.
Al-Sahaf: There are no Americans in Baghdad. It is an illusion conjured up by the Great Satan. The Americans are not even 100 miles from here. They are all committing suicide in the desert, to escape the shame and embarrassment of having been duped by their tyrannical cowboy leaders into believing that they were worthy of even standing in shock and awe before the gates of our mighty city, let alone attempting a cowardly approach with their tanks, which we repelled. All of their tanks have been destroyed.
The ground shook, and an American M-1 Abrams tank thundered past the front door of the deli, pausing briefly to fire off a shell.
Al-Sahaf: That was an Iraqi tank.
Reporter: But it had an American flag on it.
Al-Sahaf: There was no American flag on that tank.
Reporter: I saw it right on the side, right under the spray-painted sign that said "Kiss This, Saddam."
Al-Sahaf: That was the noble Iraqi soldier's message of love to his president.
Reporter: In English?
Al-Sahaf: It was in Arabic.
Reporter: But I read it in English.
Al-Sahaf: You are a true fool if you believe that an Iraqi soldier would write a message to his president in English.
Reporter: But...
Al-Sahaf: It is all lies upon lies upon lies. The ignorant blood-sucking criminals who call themselves Americans, who booby-trap pens and pencils and throw them into the villages where children can find them, cannot see the truth before their eyes, and you, as reporters, who are charged with seeking the truth, and who instead spread the lies of the heretical American pencil-booby-trappers, are the worst of all.
Reporter: We are?
Al-Sahaf: You lying curs have written that the Americans have taken and renamed Saddam International Airport, calling it now Baghdad International. However, the highway signs still say Saddam International, and YahooMaps still has it listed under its true name. Do you see? If it were true, these things would have been changed. Yet you report this blasphemous propaganda. For your lies, God shall boil your eyeballs in chemicals.
Reporter: That reminds me; a 101st Airborne division found some chemical drums the other day...
Al-Sahaf: They did not.
Reporter: ... and field tests indicated the presence of sarin and tabun, which as you know are nerve agents...
Al-Sahaf: They are not.
Reporter: ... and they're going to do some more tests to confirm what they've found, to make sure it's not just another false alarm...
Al-Sahaf: It is not.
Reporter: ... and I was wondering if you'd want to comment ... wait, did you just say it's not a false alarm?
Al-Sahaf: I did not.
The reporter paused.
Reporter: The sun will rise in the morning.
Al-Sahaf: It will not. It has not risen over Baghdad in centuries. That is a Zionist-imperialist lie, and you will go to hell for it.
Reporter: All right. So what are you going to do after the war?
Al-Sahaf hesitated, and looked over his shoulder before answering.
Al-Sahaf: I am going stick with politics.

He, no matter what affections the infidel masses have for him must pay reporations for his part in supporting heinous crimes against the kind, human people of Iraq and humanity. Long live Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf in reparation for his culpableness.

My absolute favorite...
When coalition forces took over the airport, Mohammed Saeed al Sahhaf declared:
"The soldiers of Saddam Hussein have given them a lesson they will never forget."

This guy is by far the most amusing astounding entertaining comedian I've ever seen. Just look at his performance on top of a roof (since his own office is up in cloud nine) with bullets and tanks ramming and pounding his ass, you've got to laugh your ass off.
In my opinion, 9.95 for his hilarious performance, which tops both Jerry and Drew.

What a fucking bullshiter!
Posted by: Anonymous | April 11, 2003 08:49 PM
Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf. He knew very well that he was lying but he wanted to frustrate Western Media and USA. Even Iraqis knew that he was bull shitting. He wasn't funny but sickening to watch him. Few more weeks no one will remember him.. He is like the insane gay see standing on the cornet talking to himself... And this is where you will find him.. On some street corner by himself lost in this world.

Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf is the true star of the war. I would gladly swap two hours of bland CentCom briefings by Tommy Franks and Vincent Brooks for two minutes of al-Sahaf's rhetoric. The guy provided much needed light relief in what is otherwise a rather serious war. He also reminds us to take briefings (from all sides) with a pinch of salt.
With his loyalty to his country's regime, his punchy graphic ad-libs and his skill at mixing propoganda with light-entertainment, he would surely be the perfect anchor for a Fox News show.
Call me shallow, but I'm don't care whether they find Saddam or the Weapons of Mass Distruction, just so long as they find Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf and give him his own talk show.

OK OK so the "Mo Man" could carry the schtick...we may get our wish to see him again...the most wanted list is out and he didnt make it...anybody know where any video of this guy is on the web?

Everyone who actually gets upset about this guy needs to lighten up. In a very tough world, we all need a little laugh and who has given us more laughs in this war than Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf.
Now quiet you gang of godless infidels!!

WHENEVER I'M FEELING DOWN HIS SILLY COMMENTS GIVE ME A GOOD LAUGH. OH MY STOMACH HURTS FROM ALL THE LAUGHING, I GOT TEARS IN MY EYES IT'S SO FUNNY.
"It is all fabrication, lies, deceit, and propaganda put forth by the Americans, British and their Zionist allies. Their invading forces are nowhere near Baghdad," he said.
"In fact, they are nowhere near Iraq at all! They are not even in the Middle East. Valiant Iraqi forces have pushed the tyrants completely from the country and back across the ocean."
CAN JAY LENO GET HIM ON THE TONIGHT SHOW?

this guy was funny, bring him to hollywood.. I enjoyed his comedy standups... thanks to all U.S and British soldiers for freeing Iraq... As for Germany,France, and Russia shut the hell up .. to scared to go to war but now that it's almost over they want to stick thier nose in where it doesn't belong..

If Mohammed Saeed al Sahaf worked for Bill Clinton:
Sahaf (re:Clinton), "That would depend on what your definition of 'is' is".
"It is all fabrication, lies, deceit, and propaganda put forth by the Americans...God willing... he was nowhere near that blood sucking woman," "In fact, they were nowhere near each other at all!"

Don't know much about Iraqi politics, but it seems to me Mohammed would make good Iraqi leader. The guy didn't bolt when the bombs started to rain. He stood there reassuring local folk when the going got tough.

This guy had too much of thier hash before the interview and forgot which side he was refering to "The soldiers of Saddam Hussein have given them a lesson they will never forget." and the evr famous.."they are using a tactic calld stupid silly"

For a man to see his world falling apart, yet put on a brave face and do his duty knowing he could be killed anytime,we can only admire such a soul. Wherever you are Sahaf,i hope you're safe.
As for those who would like to see him on the talk show circuit,he's not a sideshow, he's a human being. He may seem like a joke, but i'm sure it took a lot of willpower to appear so cool.He was trying to boost the morale of his people and soldiers, futile as it was.I hope Bush and co. will finally do something to atone for the misery that America (gov't) has inflicted on the people of Iraq et al...wasn't it the cia that put Saddam in power?

At last we have a comedian to take the place of our dearly beloved Tommy Cooper. Or if you are a Geordie ( Bobby Thompson). Let him serve whatever sentence he has to then invite him to the London Palladium.
This half wit has provided the only light relief to a horrible situation, other than the futile efforts of the pulse eating 'peaceniks' who don't want to save the people of Iraq so much as they want to denegrate the USA.
The Americans deserve support and Comical Ali deserves to survive but only if he is prepared to work his way up through the ranks. I suggest that his first role could be as the back end of the camel in the Ali Baba pantomime.

Congratulations MR Al-Sahaf, we wish you the best.
Please get in touch with Augustin kontchou Nkomeigne, the former information and external relations minister of Cameroon. You seem to share many things. It would be interesting to know who is the funniest lier among you.

This man is a comedic genius and the coalition forces should make sure he is given safe haven. I wish the academy awards weren't over since his performance was better than any of the infidel nominees.
Instead of being tried for war crimes, he should be given his own talk show on Al Jazeera where he can talk about the ever evolving situation in the region!

An Honorable man who was defending his country and fellow citizens. His genuine approach and high spirit is a model for the weak and oppressed to rise against the strong and oppressive. In his heart, Iraq which has sufferend sanctions inflicted by the "democratic" powers of the world, has suffered so much. The Iraqi children lacked food, medicine and proper education. The Iraqis lacked a proper and normal life. And to add insult to injury, those same "democratic" powers designed a big lie about weapons of mass destruction, that they cant up till now find any trace off, and invaded the country. All what they were after was the oil. Americans, what would you feel if there exists a country more powerful than the US and it decides to bomb New York and Washington, wont you all feel like you yourselves are stabbed? This is what Mr. Al Sahhaf was feeling!! I salute him a true honorable and truely hope he is safe, and yes, wish he would become the future president of his country.

When it comes to politics, I wonder why almost all politicians tend to turn tyrants..., this has been the case since the dawn of creation, and it will remain to be so till the end of life. Yet one thing lies between tyranny and democracy, between oppression and freedom, between life and death, it is this mixture between good and evil. This applies to any politician, specifically, in my example to the former Iraqi Minister “ Mohamed Saeed El Sahaf’s”. His very strong charisma and attractiveness makes him a very distinguished man and in my opinion forgives any cruelty that might have occurred. I love him so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He sure said a lot of funny lines, but the funniest was when a journalist asked him:
"What are your comments about the Australian soldiers that are fighting along side the coalition forces?" and he replied:
"Who are the Australians. We will slap their head with slippers (naeel in Arabic)"
When I heard this, I never laughed like it never before in my life. If a man makes me laugh like this, I would love him even if he was the devil himself, if not a brutal man of the regime.

These are some of the most pathetic words I have ever read. Some of you praise a man for standing in a position of authority and lying to his citizens and call it bravery. Wake up! If his people would have believed him...they would have trusted and walked the streets as they were being attacked and caused themselves to get killed because of lies that he spoke to them.
Bravery is not about lying...its not about standing up against someone behind the security of someone else. Its about stepping up to what is wrong and facing it without a regard for your own life. This little man did nothing of the sort. He ran...he will keep running...and he will die as a liar...not a brave man.
I hope he drowns to death in his lies...I hope the Iraqi people will bring about a progressive country from all of this. Your stupid remarks are not going to help them. The more I read by some of you...the more I realize how stupid you are. Get an education...become informed...and stop spreading your stupidity!
Posted by: Cory | April 14, 2003 05:13 PM
I am writing in responce to those calling Mr AlSahhaf a liar. Please apply what you are preaching to yourself. You yourself should get an education, get informed, and then call the right liars and "small men" names. This new law adopted by the current "coalition" forces is nothing but the law of the jungle. One day, when you are powerless, and someone more powerful than you decides to take your property by force just because they fancy it and are powerful enough to do so, then you will understand what Mr AlSahhaf's ordeal is. Then you will be called a liar and a small man. How shameful, how unethical.

Did anyone see the two Iraqi's after the statue fell carrying a poster telling the 'Human Shields to go Home'.
The Pulse eating Peacenik arseholes who went off on a jolly to Bagdad just so they could pontificate to their herbal tea drinking supporters that they had 'done their bit for the people of Iraq' actually did more damage with their Anti American politically correct crap, than Comical Ali ever could, but are not in the least bit funny, whereas Ali is hilarious.
Those other humourless clowns who lead France , Russia and Germany and who are now waiting to stick their dirty little fingers into the Iraq pie, seeing as the fighting is nearly over, well they couldn't even be a warm up act for Ali.
Catch Ali , Slap his wrists then give him a regular spot on The Graham Norton show.

One must concede that Al-Sahaf were not far from truth when he called Bush "The insane little dwarf Bush" or when he said "I speak better English than this villain Bush." (hey, even my cat do !!!) and this is better "Bush is a very stupid man. The American people are not stupid, they are very clever. I can't understand how such clever people came to elect such a stupid president." (maybe bro Jeb can answer this) and my favorite "Those [Bush & Rumsfeld] only deserve to be hit with shoes." (yesssss)
Posted by: wacka | April 14, 2003 06:31 PM
Other people dont escape Mr. Sahaf ire:
"Who is this dog Franks in Qatar?"
"A crook and the most despicable creature"
On Donald Rumsfeld
"I think the British nation has never been faced with a tragedy like this fellow [Blair]"
"W. Bush, this man is a war criminal, and we will see that he is brought to trial"
"The leader of the international criminal gang of bastards."
More on Bush
"We're going to drag the drunken junkie nose of Bush through Iraq's desert, him and his follower dog Blair...There are 26 million Saddams in Iraq"

Al-Sahaf: It is all lies upon
