freedom
"Freedom is not a reaction; freedom is not a choice. It is man's pretense that because he has choice he is free. Freedom is pure observation without direction, without fear of punishment and reward. Freedom is without motive; freedom is not at the end of the evolution of man but lies in the first step of his existence. In observation one begins to discover the lack of freedom. Freedom is found in the choiceless awareness of our daily existence and activity." - Krishnamurti

Whatever freedom is, it's not something you find in Tower Video. Was searching for a copy of the punk-gore cult movie "Class of 1999" when I happened across the action figures section. Wasn't about to procure, even though the "Alice" figures had a quite decent level of detail to them, when I noticed something towards the bottom of the rack. Freedom the Eagle, an anthromorphic, pissed off, torso-muscle-heavy male eage, complete with clenched wing fists ready to tear apart evildoers of any national or political descent.
Not that it was bad enough making a fortune off 9-11 flags and bumper stickers (inclined to agree with Bill Maher that adhering one to your car is the least you can do), but now we have our own action figure to wrap around this quasi-patriotic fervor?
Whatever freedom may be, this isn't it.

Worst of all, you have to take into consideration that the toy's name was once "French The Eagle".
